0700 PT & Long Run....and by long, I mean 7.4 miles. It was actually a nice run and we had a great pace throughout. We finished it in 70 minutes, so it was just under 10 minute / mile.
After PT, we had lecture on Salvage and Overhaul. Salvage is the process of minimizing damage to and loss of the house and goods, etc. Overhaul is the process of checking for fire extension in hidden areas (inside walls, ceilings, etc). We got a little hands on time with some thermal imagers (they allow you to see heat signatures), thermal sensors (they show changes in temperature), folding and deploying salvage tarps, and building water chutes to divert water flow using some poles, a tarp, and ladder. After our relatively easy hands on time, we were surprised with another trip to the pad to wrap up the day. We each threw the 24' ladder twice by ourselves, and the 28' ladder twice with a partner.
I'm sore and tired..and ready for the weekend.
