Week 14: Day 1

0700 PT.

The remainder of the day was spent on lecture....rescue procedures and ventilation. Nothing too exciting.

At lunch, we met the other Battalion on the pad and waited for the instructors to arrive. (On Friday, we lost their flag....the last person out of the room forgot to grab it, and an instructor walked off with it....so we figured this had something to do with that). Because it the flag belongs to Battalion 2...(not us)...they were punished for the loss of the flag, and we had to watch as we saw the punishment we created for them. They had to run up and down the tower (a total of 12 times by the time they ended). Whenever the instructor blew the whistle, they had to do something: 1 time....20 pushups; 2 times.....10 8-man bodybuilders (starts with a jumping jack and goes into a pushup, ending back in a standing position); 3 times.....10 starbursts (standing position, to a squat, and then jumping with arms and legs extending out like a star, and ending in a standing position). While I am glad I didn't have to do it, it wasn't that fun watching them have to do it because of us......

We lost another recruit today...he resigned because "it wasn't the place for him." Truth be told, he was on the verge of being fired for integrity issues.....

We are down to 37 recruits.
