Detection and sprinkler systems lecture.
We learned all about different detection systems for fire and also the various types of sprinkler systems. After a long and boring lecture, we geared up and went out to practice shutting down sprinklers. In order to stop the flow of water, you use 2 wooden chocks (small wooden triangles similar to a door stop) and position them so they obstruct the opening and prevent water flow. In the process of doing so, you get SOAKED!!!
