Week 16: Day 3

The 5 people that failed the retests were allowed to try one last time to pass the practicals. Today was judgment day.......

All 5 people passed their retests, so everyone kept their jobs.

We spent the remainder of the day practicing our skills and simulating burns at the burn building. We ran through a call from dispatch to breakdown and returning to service. We advanced hoselines into the building, searched for victims, brought them out to the ambulance and transferred care to the medics. To simulate the fire and low visibility conditions, the building was filled with smoke from strategically placed fog/smoke machines. This went on all day long (with groups and responsibilities changing).

This is similar to what we will be doing tomorrow during our MIDTERM BURNS!!! The only difference is that tomorrow, there will be real fire, real heat, and real smoke!!!
