Final Skills Practicals / Tests

We performed a series of practicals (similar to the Midterm practicals) which tested the skills we have learned in Fire II.

35 foot ladder raise (3 person)
28 foot ladder beam raise (2 person)

victim rescue and carrying up and down stairs
ropes and knots
salvage cover deployment and folding/storage
dressing drills

Everything had strict criteria that had to be met (including time limits). There were only 5 people that passed everything on their first attempt. It is comforting to say that my partner and I are 2 of those 5. Tomorrow during retests, we will be able to sit at ease knowing we are not in a situation where we could potentially lose our jobs if we failed retests!!
